My Personal Journey to Become a Certified Health Coach

My name is Ronda Kremske, and I would like to share a little about my health journey. I have struggled with my weight for most of my life. However, in just over a year I lost 120 pounds and have kept it off for many years. I also decreased my symptoms of PCOS and Hashimoto disease. I have been enlightened to the truth of how to fuel my body with real, whole foods in order to lose weight and keep it off in a healthy way that is sustainable without being hungry. I’m passionate about sharing this knowledge with others, which has led me to become a Certified Health Coach through the Dr. Sears Wellness Institute. I look forward to partnering with you to guide you as you implement lasting changes to improve your health. My goal is to educate, motivate, and empower you to reach your health goals so that you too can enjoy the freedom I’ve found with numerous benefits such as fitting into smaller clothes, experiencing more energy, building confidence, and getting rid of aches and pains.

“After 40 years of ‘Yo-yo’ dieting, I finally decided to stop trying to be ‘skinny’. Clearly nothing was working! I had to face the music and realize my genetics will never be the same as Twiggy. I’m short and I’m fat – get over it.

In the fall of 2018, I had enough of being fat and feeling lousy. I began researching nontraditional avenues of weight loss i.e. regular everyday food. One year later I had lost 85 pounds – just 40 pounds shy of my goal at the time. A month-long vacation that included two cruises and three art retreats packed 20 plus pounds back on the scales. UGH!! I tried to get back on my “good eating plan”, but failed, several times. Then the pandemic brought stress, lack of movement and honestly a depressive lack of interest in anything. Breads, sweets and potatoes once again became my “feel good hiding place”.

In the spring of 2024, I noticed one of the wonderful Volunteers (Janet Wallace) I worked with at the time, had lost a significant amount of weight – she looked terrific – vibrant, energetic, happy! When I asked her how she had lost the weight, she sent me an invitation to the next “Beyond Keto Workshop” created by Ronda Kremske. Apprehensive but curious, I signed up. What could I lose, it was free!!

Oddly enough the week-long workshop was extremely informative, exciting, motivating and peaked my interest. The basic food plan included the majority of what I had researched and was working for me back in 2018. I thought “hooray” I’ll just hunker down and get back on track with my plan and incorporate the additional knowledge I gained from the workshop. No need for further instruction as I’m very independent and can do it on my own.

June 17th, two weeks after the Beyond Keto Workshop, I started my journey to healthy eating. By the time September rolled around I had already lost 34 pounds – Hooray!! But, something was still missing. I decided to join the Real Health Resolvers group to not only get “the rest of the story” i.e. the missing pieces of the puzzle; but for the opportunity to share with others going through the same journey of improved health.

Despite being a loner and very strong independent person, this characteristic is not always conducive for success – especially where weight loss is concerned. I needed that level of camaraderie, experience, recipe sharing, and continued education in order to stay on track and stop sabotaging myself!!

This program is not one of those “quick fix”, meals in a box or points toward goal eating plans. This is a lifestyle change and a way of living (and eating) for the rest of your life!! Real food, for real people, for real health!

My most recent Dr. appointment revealed a 42-pound weight loss and significant improvements in vital statistics and blood work. I am more energetic, working hard on exercising more, and am fitting into clothes I haven’t worn in over five years!! I’m not food deprived in any way and I’m never “hangry”. Most importantly, I feel GREAT.

I am very blessed, thankful and grateful to be part of a loving, supportive and FUN community of weight loss warriors called the Real Health Resolvers!! Go Team!!!

” I joined the Beyond Keto five-day challenge in late August after noticing the amazing changes in a friend. I had always thought giving up sugar and carbs was impossible, especially as I was dealing with my highest weight due to menopause and recovering from back surgery less than a year ago. “I started Real Health Resolvers in May 2023, so this photo was taken just about a year later...we were celebrating Cinco de Mayo. I lost about 32 pounds in that year and as you can see, I am now smaller than my daughter. I have maintained for over a year now and I love the Keto lifestyle. “I have been overweight for most of my life and was characterized by ups and downs. For me, it was manageable until…. my doctor told me that I had become pre-diabetic. For me, that was my wake-up call. Something had to change. So, I decided to lose some weight, but I was not very successful. Each doctor appointment became a stressful event because I did not know what my A1C level would be. Then, my wife floated the idea of joining Real Health Resolutions, and I was mildly excited. I did not want to start counting points or calories. But I did not want to be on meds for the rest of my life. So I agreed and said I would try but was unsure what to expect. I decided to give it an honest try, not just a college try. Well, in my first month, I lost about 20 pounds, more than I had ever been able to manage on my own. I got this far without counting calories or points. When I joined the group, I got guidelines, accountability, and a network to talk to others. That made a big difference since I was no longer winging it. Even though I still got a bit to go to reach my ultimate weight, I feel like I can finally reach it and, more importantly, get my A1C and Cholesterol back into a normal range. If not by my next doctor visit, I expect to have my A1C and Cholesterol levels in a normal range soon. I have never taken any medication for anything. And I want to keep it that way. Joining a group like Real Health Resolutions, even loosely, is a great help as it gives direction and some accountability and is a source of great information, getting questions answered and learning from others.”

The Institute is a leader in science-based health and wellness education that focuses on the four pillars of health: Lifestyle, Exercise, Attitude, and Nutrition (L.E.A.N.). A certification by the Dr. Sears Wellness Institute is obtained only after completing the extensive course work and meeting all requirements. Once certified, a health coach possesses the knowledge, tools, and resources to make a positive difference in the health of others.
